FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know

Do I need a licence to hire a RIB in Mallorca?

+
It depends on the length and engine power; most RIBs require a boating licence. If you don’t have one, we add a professional skipper: you enjoy the day and they handle the navigation and the best anchorages.

What is the difference between a RIB and a motorboat?

+
A RIB is lighter, more stable and more agile: it gets into small coves and is usually cheaper for small groups. A motorboat offers more space, shade and comfort for larger groups.

Which port do we leave from?

+
Our RIBs mainly leave from Puerto Portals, in Calvià, and from Palma. Tell us where you are staying and we suggest the most convenient boat and port.

What does RIB hire include?

+
The boat, compulsory insurance and safety equipment. Fuel, skipper and extras are agreed separately and itemised before you confirm.

Can we anchor in any cove?

+
In the Balearics, posidonia seagrass is protected: you may only anchor on sand or at authorised buoys. With a RIB it is easy to find a sandy spot close to the shore, and the skipper and our team tell you where.

How far in advance should I book?

+
In July and August, 3 to 4 weeks ahead. In June and September 1 to 2 weeks is usually enough. Message us and we confirm availability the same day.
